HISTORY
- Was built in 1836, designed by architect Thomas U. Walter
- The company, The Philadelphia Contributionship for the Insurance of Houses from Loss by Fire, was formed in 1752 by Benjamin Franklin and his friends making it the first fire insurance company to be organized in the US
- The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 27, 1971
